Health Insurance

AHA pays a substantial portion of medical, dental and vision premiums regardless of the coverage options you elect. Your benefit payments are deducted for coverage during the same two week period for which you are paid. Your earnings are reduced by your portion of the medical, dental and vision insurance premiums before Federal, State and FICA taxes are calculated, thereby saving you money.​

Medical Plans

AHA provides major Medical/Prescription insurance that includes preventative care, hospitalization and other services to employees and eligible dependents including coverage for domestic partner. (Employee pays 20% AHA pays 80%)

Dental

Dental insurance covers a wide range services that includes preventative, basic, major and orthodontic service. (Employee pays 20% AHA pays 80%)

Vision

The vision plan offer services for eye exams, glasses and contact lenses. (Employee pays 20% AHA pays 80%)​

Life & Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance

Supplemental Life and AD&D – Employees may purchase additional Life and AD&D insurance for you and your eligible dependents.

Short-Term Disability – AHA provides Short Term Disability to employees to protect employees from complete loss of earning when you are disabled and need time away from work to care for an injury or illness.

Long-Term Disability – AHA provides Long Term Disability to employees to protect employees from complete loss of earnings when an employee illness or injury continues beyond the Short Term Disability period.

AHA is a member of Public Employees Retirement Association of New Mexico (PERA). Employee participation is mandatory for those who qualify. AHA contributes the requisite employer contribution in addition to 75 percent of the employee’s contribution. AHA is also a participating employer under the NM Retiree Health Care Act. Eligible retired employees are provided health insurance coverage through the NM Retiree Health Care Authority.

Deferred Compensation (457) voluntary & paid for by employee.

Additional Benefits

Tuition Reimbursement – AHA provides reimbursement to eligible employees for job related courses taken at an accredited institution.

Certification Reimbursement – AHA provides reimbursement to eligible employees for training who successfully completes training and certification programs.

AHA Training – AHA offers courses through our own internal training program, HTVN, and other training programs, in order to build professional competencies.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – AHA is committed to assisting its employees in furthering their education and training through offering a Tuition Reimbursement program to employees attending courses at an accredited college, university, or technical institution. AHA will administer the program based on IRS guidelines on tuition reimbursement.
